Neil Smith, an ex-postman, still working in the delivery sector, with many years
experience became frustrated with having to find a safe place to leave parcels in
the absence of a recipient or needing to avoid aggressive dogs.
He devised the 'Gate Box' : a parcel deposit box that is attached to the inside of a gate (or fence) but into which parcels can be deposited from the outside, solving this commonly encountered issue.
He made a mock-up of his design to test its functionality before commissioning The Inventions Factory to conduct a patent and product search.
Following the result of the patent search Neil commissioned the first prototype of his Gate Box invention.
This innovative parcel delivery box provides a secure delivery and
storage system that can be easily mounted on the inside of your property
fence or garden gate keeping it safely hidden away and accessible only
from inside your property perimeter.
The Gate Box features an anti-theft,
lockable storage compartment making
any deliveries inaccessible without a key
once deposited. It is securely mounted
on the inside of a gate or fence keeping it
out of sight.
With easy mounting frame and hook
feature making installation quick and
easy.
Featuring an easy access lift-up handle
allowing a quick deposit of parcels from
the outside of a perimeter fence.
Approximately 14 million parcels are
delivered on a daily basis in the UK alone
and failed deliveries cost both businesses
and consumers considerable time and
money .
There are a wide variety of post boxes and parcel storage
solutions already available on the market today but the
Gate Box offers a unique solution.
This innovative product provides a secure delivery and
storage system that can be easily mounted on the inside
of your property fence or garden gate keeping it safely
hidden away.
The deposit hatch is easily accessible from the outside of
the fence due to the lift up handle, for ease of use by the
delivery person.
Once parcels are deposited they are no longer accessible
from the deposit hatch due to the security shelf, or by
persons on the outside of the gate/fence,
Parcels are secured in the locked gate box and are only
accesible from inside the property perimeter with a key,
allowing vulnerable recipients peace of mind that they
never need to open the door to receive their mail.
